Health & Well-being

The health and well-being of all children, staff and families is central to our vision of everyone achieving excellence.

Pupil Health & Well being

The mental health and well-being of all members of Steel City Schools Partnership is fundamental to our philosophy and ethos of providing a first class education for all. We all have mental health and it is important pupils learn how to maintain good mental health and well-being.

Maintaining every day, regular routines wherever possible, such as, attending school whilst working towards managing mental health is key. Steel City  Schools Partnership offers a range of services to help pupils develop positive mental health and well-being and support those experiencing mental health issues.

Staff Health & Well being

Steel City Schools Partnership recognises that staff is its most important resource and are to be valued, supported and encouraged to develop personally and professionally within a learning and caring community. The Trust also recognises its duty of care to ensure the health, safety and welfare of its employees as far as reasonably practical.

Information for families

Steel City Schools Partnership and our individual academies are committed to developing a positive mental health and well-being ethos and approach which raises awareness and understanding and reduces stigma amongst pupils, staff and families. SCSP aims to help young people express their feelings, build their confidence and emotional resilience and therefore their capacity to learn. Teaching pupils the signs of poor mental health and self-help techniques to support good mental health is key as well as providing support at an early stage. We feel that by providing pupils with these vital skills will prepare them well for the different stresses and challenges which they will face in life.

A recent statistic shows that one in ten children and young people aged 5 to 16 have a clinically diagnosed mental health disorder and around one in seven has less severe problems. Unfortunately nine out of ten children and young people with mental health problems experience stigma and discrimination. Our aim is to minimise this and provide all of our pupils with the very best care and support.

Partnerships

All SCSP academies are at the heart of the community they serve, aiming to offer the very best education, support and care; and an environment of inspiration, underpinned by the highest expectations. We are pleased to work in collaboration with our strategic partners below.
